I wanted to talk about getting the best deals on a cruise ship at the last minute. See many people will plan there cruise vacation months in advance, and they think that because they are doing this that they are going to get the best deal on the vacation package. Some people on the other hand will hire a cruise planner to get the best deal, but there are lots of situations where this will not be the wisest thing to do. See cruise ships love to fill up way in advance as they already know there is work for them and they are going to get paid and people are going to come aboard and be happy. But not everyone is good at planning stuff, and if you are like me then you make most of your decisions at the last minute, which in this case would be to find some cheap cruise tickets at the last minute, which is totally possible to do.
One of the reasons you may not want to plan a cruise at the last minute though is if you live far away from the ship and would have to get an airfare ticket to get there, which could be pretty expensive. If you live right down the street from the cruiseline though you could have someone drop you off once you go the tickets. But if you are careful about picking out cruises at the last minute than you can find some really good discounts.
For example, all cruise ships want to reach the maximum passenger count because if they do not then they are losing out on money. When a cruise ship get close to the time they are going to depart then they are still not filled up to the maximum amount of people, they are going to do whatever it takes to fill those spots, this is where you can get those last minute cruise ship deals that I was talking about. Depending on how desperate the cruise line is to fill that hole, you could be saving hundreds on your tickets compared to the people that had booked early.
You will have to do a lot of work though to be able to pull this off good, so some tips that you may want to considier to get the best deals on last minute cruises are as follows. Make a plan of all of the places you wanted to take a cruise too, the more destinations you choose the better then chance you got of actually getting one of those places to bite.
Another thing that you might have to do in order to find the best deals is to get a travel agent. Get on the phone with them and tell them everything that you need, such as how long you want to be gone for, where you want to go and of course how much of a budget you have and are going to be willing to spend. Make sure that they also know you are looking for last minute deals also.
The more brochures that you pick up and look through the better chance you have of finding one of those last minute deals also. Just remember those last minute cruise deals are out there, you just have to be persistant and want to get them more than everyone else. Remember, if discount cruise tickets were easy to get at the last minute then everyone would be getting them.
